Services      Technical Manuals

We have prepared numerous spill response field guides that not only assist the planner in selecting equipment and materials but also indicate optimum application methods.  We combined with Ed Owens of Polaris Applied Sciences, Inc. to prepare a Field Guide for Oil Spill Response in Arctic Waters. Sponsored by the circumpolar nations through the Emergency Prevention Preparedness and Response (EPPR) Working Group, the Guide reflects our experience in testing and using response equipment in cold climates.  In 2007 we began work on an electronic web-based tool for SINTEF that addresses countermeasures for oil-in-ice.

Response manuals have also been prepared for specific geographical areas including the North Caspian Sea and Sakhalin Island.  Many other reports have been prepared detailing countermeasures specifications, needs and strategies for response vessels, terminals and production facilities.

A series of guidelines was produced for the ARPEL countries in Latin America that address risk assessment, contingency planning, trajectory modelling, sensitivity mapping, dispersant use, in-situ burning, shoreline cleanup, and regional integration in South and Central America.
